Katie Lambert started with a dream of global domination as a music video producer and has since spread to writing and directing. Her career highlight was P!nk knowing her name, and her lowlight was P!nk using the it to say “Katie, you’re an a**hole.”
Katie’s work focuses on the flaws and beauty of humanity and queerness in all things. She is interested in character driven comedy with a slick, sharp aesthetic. Her unique voice comes from a predisposition with female trouble and messed up relationships and her aesthetic is influenced by chick flicks of the 00s and the years she squandered watching every music video under the sun. Alongside narrative work, she has also directed commercially for Arsenal, the Marriott, Lego and Shura. She also founded and runs the production company MrMr Films.
Katie’s latest short “I Hate Helen” is currently doing the festival circuit and has played at 33 festivals and counting. It was recently selected for one of the British Council’s ‘Five Films for Freedom” and screened to over 100 countries, alongside playing at BFI Flare. Other festivals and prizes include but are not limited to, Aesthetica, Hollyshorts, Mumbai Queer, Ciclope Gold, YDA Young Directors award, Best LGBTQI+ nomination at Bolton. It premiered online at Directors Notes.
Her first film, EAT IT also played to various acclaim worldwide.
