Heritage

The Artists Partnership was formerly known as Ken McReddie Associates.  Founded in the late 1970’s, it quickly became one of the leading boutique talent agencies in Britain.

Roger Charteris joined Ken McReddie in 1998, becoming a partner and Managing Director in 2002.  Ken McReddie retired in 2008.  With his partner, Marcus Evans, Roger acquired the agency and set about restructuring and rebranding the company, into what is now, The Artists Partnership – the name reflecting the ethos of the company and what it offers.

Roger’s vision was one of collaboration and partnership, focusing on nurturing a distinct working practice between agency, agents and clients; developing rich relationships to build the agency into a boutique, internationally facing home for talent.

As part of its growth strategy, The Artists Partnership explored artist-led projects and set up Marcus Evans Entertainment which operated as a development producer leading to its first successful commission in 2011; an original 6 x part drama, The Bletchley Circle, at ITV.

In 2012 the company acquired World Productions. While continuing to operate independently, World Productions sat under the Marcus Evans Entertainment banner alongside The Artists’ Partnership where it enjoyed a successful rebirth over a number of years, producing such shows including: The Bodyguard, Line of Duty, Bletchley Circle and The Fear to name but a few.  In April 2017 World Production was sold to ITV Studios.

The Artists Partnership has continued to grow, expanding its literary, commercial and voice-over divisions, creating a 360 degree representation for clients.

In 2017 The Artists Partnership launched its sister company, The Development Partnership, headed up and managed by, Robert Taylor, focussing on developing client-led passion projects. The Development Partnership is 100% client-facing, developing and producing shows in both scripted and non-scripted television, film and theatre.

In March 2020, The Artists Partnership acquired Shepherd Management, the acquisition saw the start of The Artists Partnership’s targeted investment strategy, leading to the formation of The Partnership Group.

In its latest collaboration with Sayle Screen and Sara Putt Associates, one of Europe’s most highly regarded literary agencies and the biggest below the line agency respectively, June 2021 saw the launch of, The Partnership Group.

The Partnership Group will focus on 3 main areas of interest:

  • Artist’s Representation
  • Development and Production
  • Literary/ Underlying rights

The Partnership Group seeks to focus on rich relationships that work in collaboration to develop and grow talent throughout the Arts.
