Adam Smith

Adam Smith is a highly experienced director, known for the 7-time Emmy winning LITTLE DORRIT (Claire Foy, Matthew Macfadyen), WORLD ON FIRE (Sean Bean, Lesley Manville), SKINS (Nicholas Hoult, Joe Dempsie, Dev Patel) and DOCTOR WHO (Matt Smith, Karen Gillan); Adam’s was the first episode for Matt’s iteration of the show, and includes the memorable ‘The Time of the Angels’.

Adam’s known for his stylish, visceral and captivating work that blends cutting-edge technology with a unique human touch. He began his career in music videos, directing numerous iconic works including The Chemical Brothers’ Galvanize, and The Streets’ Blinded by the Lights.

His debut feature, TRESSPASS AGAINST US (Michael Fassbender, Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan) was nominated for multiple awards – including Debut Director and Best Actor categories. His documentaries WOT DO YOU CALL IT? (about Grime music) and A.I.P.S (about a group of Englishmen re-enacting the Vietnam War in Kent) were commissioned by C4.

Adam’s commercial work includes projects for Nike (starring Wayne Rooney) and Jaguar (starring Damian Lewis). And over the years he’s continued his long-term collaboration with The Chemical Brothers, creating and directing the visuals for their tours and live events, most recently for Tomora (Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands’ collaboration with Norwegian popstar Aurora).
