Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond

Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond are a notable Swiss filmmaking duo. They’re childhood friends and their films are celebrated for their sensitive portrayal of relationships, particularly within families, and their ability to evoke strong emotional response from the audience.

Their first feature LA PETITE CHAMBRE was Switzerland’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards in 2011, was honored with two Swiss Film Awards and received a dozen awards in international festivals.

MY LITTLE SISTER, their next feature starring Nina Hoss and Lars Eidinger, premiered in International Competition at the Berlinale 2020. Selected in numerous festivals, it was nominated at the Satellite Awards and at the EFA, and won a bunch of awards, among them five Swiss Film Awards.

Chuat and Reymond have also explored the documentary field by directing three documentaries, including LADIES, nominated for the Swiss Film Award 2019.

They also wrote and directed the series OPEN BOOK, broadcast on Swiss and French TV. More recently, they directed TRANSATLANTIC, Anna Winger’s (Unorthodox) new Netflix show, starring Cory Michael Smith, Gillian Jacobs and Corey Stoll.

The duo is currently working on their new series TOXIC (in preproduction), and the US remake of their first film THE LITTLE BEDROOM, starring Morgan Freeman, Kate Mara and Laurence Fishburne. Also, Chuat and Reymond are developing STILL DREAMING, a feature with Nina Hoss attached.

Kirsty Robinson

Mary Beard

Mary Beard is one of the most original and best-known classicists working today. She is Professor of Classics at Newnham College, Cambridge, and the Classics editor of the TLS. She is a fellow of the British Academy and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Her books include the Wolfson Prize-winning Pompeii: The Life of a Roman Town (2008) and the best-selling SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome (2015). Her popular TLS blog has been collected in the books It’s a Don’s Life and All in a Don’s Day. Her latest book is Women & Power: A Manifesto (2017). Her work for Radio includes Front Row on BBC Radio 4, and her work for Television includes The Shock of the Nude (2020) for BBC/ Lion TV and Civilisations for BBC (2018).
