Zia Holloway
Zia Holloway is a prolific Edinburgh based writer. Her numerous original projects in development include THE DEATH OF WHALES with The Development Partnership and The Immigrant (director Alonso Ruizpalacios is attached to direct), and her original feature film FAST TIMES ON THE EDGE OF NOWHERE with Maisie Williams’ company Rapt Pictures. She was part of BBC scripted programme in 2025 and won the BBC Wales writer’s award in 2021.
She has worked on adaptations, video games, and theatre and writes both within the UK and US, most recently working on a television adaptation with Fifth Season and Joy Coalition, and an adaptation for 5x Media. Her characterful work focuses on the representation of her generation in an ever-changing world and bringing to screen distinct perspectives, using the elements and genres of propulsive thrillers, grounded sci-fi, and magical realism.
Her script GOSSIP was shortlisted for the BAFTA Yugo award. Her short film DIVINE made the shortlist for the Disney Imagine Scheme and the Primetime Empowerment fund.

Shiv most recently Directed I Wish You Well – The Gwyneth Paltrow Ski -Trial Musical at Edinburgh Festival (Underbelly) which transferred to London’s West End, Criterion Theatre in 2024.
He is currently the Resident Director of Hamilton at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre, West End and Assistant Director of Three Sisters at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
Shiv trained as a dancer from a young age and later as an actor. He has gone on to work extensively in the UK and internationally performing in plays, musicals, television, and film for over a decade. Having always had a passion for storytelling and collaborating with other artists, he then went on to lead an exciting career as a theatre director.
Shiv uses a multi-disciplinary approach when creating worlds, including music, video, physical theatre, dance, magic, and puppetry. He is interested in stories that move and entertain an audience whilst also pushing the boundaries of theatre making. He has been able to flourish when both re-imagining classic stories and devising new work.
Shiv was shortlisted for the RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award in 2022.
